What personal data we collect and why we collect it
This website stores files of previous Acid Fast Club programmes and meeting administrative notices, which include names and academic affiliations of people who present and administered these meetings.
Our website does not allow comments.
If images are uploaded, we aim to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We do not use contact forms.
Only administrators and selected individuals who write copy have the ability to log in to this site.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may rarely include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Basic analytics data is collected via the Jetpack plugin, including IP address and location. This information is only kept for 28 days, and is not shared with 3rd parties.
We use a WordPress.com platform. They inform us that they may collect:
- Information that a visitor enters on the site, such as search queries.
- Technical Data from a Visitor’s Computer etc: Information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available about visitors to a Site, such as the IP address, browser type, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.
- Location Information: They may determine the approximate location of a visitor’s device from the IP address. They collect and use this information to, for example, tally for their Users how many people visit their Sites from certain geographic regions.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (limited to administrators and writers), Automattic also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. These data are not shared with anyone else.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
How we protect your data
We use secure servers, so that data is encrypted, meaning that personal information such as IP addresses are not visible to any computer attempting to listen in to traffic to and from this site.
